Pope Francis was the one who inspired us when with Motu Proprio he moved all of the church’s sanctuaries from the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People to the one for Promoting New Evangelisation. Pope Francis and the various pontiffs viewed the sanctuaries and pilgrimages as a new Areopagus where the Gospel is announced to the people to rediscover the roots of faith.
